Objectives and Activities
Behavioural Economics Experiments and Analytics Laboratory (BEE&AL) is dedicated to experimental research on economic decision-making and strategic interactions. Our aims are to provide a platform for the development of ideas, dissemination, and publication of experimental research and to facilitate the running of laboratory experiments within the ABV-IIITM Gwalior. The goal of BEEA&L is to promote research and teaching in the field of behavioral economics and its related interdisciplinary areas.
Scope of Research Work
- Consumer Behavior Studies
a) How consumers think, feel, reason, and select between different alternatives.
b) Contextual studies: How consumer is influenced by his or her environment (e.g., culture, family, signs, media).
c) Shopping behaviour: Individual behavior while shopping in a retail store.
d) Information processing: Consumer knowledge or information processing abilities and its influence on decisions.
e) Motivation studies: Consumer motivation and decision strategies.
f) Brand Choice behaviour: Brand selection, impression formation etc.
g) Communication studies: Advertising effectiveness, message response, promotion response etc.
h) Product Studies: Effect and perception of packaging, Concept Testing, Comparative Evaluation and New Product Preferences
i) Pricing studies: Price Sensitivity, Price Evaluation, Price quality Relationship
Behavioral Economics: Studies psychological aspects that interfere with decision making. Experiments can be designed to study the evolution of rationality.
