Ques: What is outstanding about Information Technology and Business Management study programs in   ABV-IIITM?

Ans: ABV-IIITM is the first institute in India that integrates IT and management Our efforts till now appear encouraging as reflected by the success of our alumnus in areas of business administration and information technology.


Ques:   What is the motivation behind integrating IT and management?

Ans: We feel that IT and business management are complementary to one another and equal exposure in both is needed to become excellent and effective solution providers. It is important to use technological solutions for betterment of quality of living for the masses. Further for any business model to be successful an analytical understanding of technical processes is justifiable. ABV-IIITM thus attempts to synchronize these two study fields.


Ques: Comment on salient points on the history of this institute.

Ans: ABV-IIITM was an effort of MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development), Government of India in integrating IT and management studies in a synchronized manner. Initiated in 1997, the first academic program started in 1998 for Post Graduate Diploma in Management and Information Technology (PGDMIT), followed by PGDIT in 1999, and 5-year Dual Post Graduate and Ph. D programs in 2000.


Ques: What is the significance of IIIT/ IIITM group of institutes?

Ans: IIIT/ IIITM group of institutes were formed for integrating IT and business processes. IIITMs in Allahabad, Jabalpur, Kanchipuram, and Gwalior form a group through their teaching philosophy and objectives though each of them operates autonomously.


Ques:  Does this institute offer any other programs other than Computer Science and Management?

Ans: As of now this institute offers study programs leading to Post Graduate and Doctoral degrees in areas of Computer Science and Business Administration only. However scope is there for pursuing Doctoral programs in certain areas of Applied Sciences.


Ques: How are admissions done in IIITM?

Ans: For 5-year IPG course candidates need to qualify in JEE (mains) held annually. M. Tech aspirants need to clear GATE while candidates aspiring for MBA course must qualify CAT, MAT, or C-MAT. Doctoral candidates are also required to qualify GATE and thereafter appear for an institute level evaluation.

Ques:  How are foreign students admitted to ABV-IIITM?

Ans: Foreign students are required to abide by DASA (Direct Admission for Student Abroad) guidelines for admission to this institute.


Ques: What are the security arrangements of this institute?

Ans: The institute has round the clock security at all entrances, students hostels, academic and administrative blocks, and other buildings. Every student, faculty member, staff has an identity card. Guest are only allowed on recommendation by faculty members or staff or verification by students of the institute.

Ans: This institute is located at an approximate distance of 3.5km from Gwalior railway station and 8.5 km from city airport. Gola ka Mandir, an important landmark of this city is about 3km away. The institute is on Morena Link Road which connects Gwalior to Agra. Buses and auto-rickshaws are continually available from main entrance of this institute to Gola ka Mandir.
