Dr. Irshad Ahmad Ansari is an Assistant Professor (Grade I) in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at ABV-Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (ABV-IIITM), Gwalior, an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. He obtained his Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, M.Tech. from Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, and B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. Before joining ABV-IIITM Gwalior, he served as a faculty member at PDPM IIITDM Jabalpur and carried out research at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) and Sungkyunkwan University, Republic of Korea.
His research interests include Image, Signal and Biomedical Signal Processing, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Electronic Designs, Medical Devices, and Multimedia Security. Dr. Ansari has made significant contributions to these areas through 33 SCI/SCIE-indexed journal publications, 05 ESCI/Scopus-indexed journal publications, 36 international conference publications, 08 internationally edited books, 06 book chapters, and 02 published Indian patents. According to Google Scholar, his publications have received over 2,200 citations, with an h-index of 24 and an i10-index of 44, reflecting the wide impact of his research.
Dr. Ansari has successfully led and contributed to several sponsored research projects funded by ARTPARK, IISc Bangalore, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), MIDAS Lifecare, Mumbai, and other funding agencies. He has also successfully completed industrial consultancy projects for the Vehicle Factory, Khamaria, Jabalpur, focusing on Industry 4.0-based digitalization solutions.
A dedicated academic mentor, Dr. Ansari has supervised 18 master’s degree dissertations, successfully guided 03 Ph.D. scholars to completion, and is currently supervising 04 doctoral candidates. He has delivered more than 35 expert lectures in Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), Short-Term Courses (STCs), workshops, and keynote talks in international conferences across India. He has also organized several FDPs and short-term courses as Coordinator and served as the Conference Chair of the IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Signal Processing and Effective Communication Technologies (INSPECT 2024 and INSPECT 2025) at ABV-IIITM Gwalior. A Senior Member of IEEE, Dr. Ansari actively serves on the editorial boards of reputed international journals and continues to contribute significantly to research, innovation, academic leadership, and capacity building in intelligent signal processing, artificial intelligence and electronic designs.
