Dr. Vinod Kumar Jain is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, ABV- Indian Institute of Information Technology, and Management (IIITM), Gwalior, M.P., India. He earned his Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (IIITM), Gwalior, India, and his M.Tech from NIT Raipur. He worked as an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science and Engineering Discipline of IIITDM Jabalpur from 29 July 2013 to 26 November 2024, where he has also served as Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. He also worked as an Associate Professor (on Contract) in the CSE department of the National Institute of Technology, Delhi. Dr. Jain is also a senior member of the IEEE and a member of various other technical societies, including the IEEE Communications Society, IEEE Computer Society, ACM, and IETE. He has more than 26 years of teaching experience and has published various research papers in reputed international journals and conferences.
Dr. Jain has also guided 07 Ph.D. students (05 Completed + 02 Ongoing) and 16 M. Tech. students (14 Completed + 02 Ongoing). He has also carried out various highly valued (financial outlay more than 60 lakhs rupees) sponsored research projects (01 Completed + 02 Ongoing) and consultancy projects (02 Completed + 01 Ongoing) funded by various organizations, e.g., DSIR, Min of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, MP SLDC-MPPTCL Ltd., TiHAN, IIT Hyderabad, Odisha SLDC, OPTCL Ltd., etc.
His primary research interests include routing and data dissemination in Wireless Sensor Networks, Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks, IOT, and ICN-IoT. He also worked on the Applications of Machine Learning and Deep Learning in various domains. He is also serving as General Co-Chair and Technical Programme Chair 2026 of IEEE 20th International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS 2026) is being organized by ABV-IIITM Gwalior during 18-19 December 2026, and has also served as General Chair of 2025 IEEE International Conference on Recent Advances in Computing and Systems (ReACS2025) organized by the Department of CSE, ABV-IIITM Gwalior during 19-20 December 2025 and IEEE CICT 2018, an International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies organized by five centrally funded IIITs annually on a rotation basis. Apart from this, he was also a member of the organizing committees of various other conferences and workshops. Dr. Jain also presented research papers and attended various reputed international conferences in the USA and France.
